You could almost say it was sweetly prophetic that Alonzo met Nicole. Alonzo's mother, thinking she was going to deliver a girl when pregnant with Alonzo, had the name "Nicole" picked out! Little did she know that after she decided to name her son after his father, she would still indeed gain a daughter named Nicole years down the road.
Not every couple can say that the "in sickness and in health" portion of their vows was tested from before even getting married. Nicole and Alonzo put their love and devotion on display through illness from the day they got engaged! The day Alonzo planned to pop the question, he barely made it through the hike they went on. After reaching the top of the hill, he dropped down on one knee, asked Nicole to marry him, and spent four days in the hospital immediately after. It turns out he had meningitis! The important thing was that Nicole said yes, and had an early opportunity to show her unconditional love. It was this kind and supportive nature that Alonzo fell for when they dated through his deployment to Iraq while in the Marines. He knew pretty early she was "the one," and it was so sweet to see them officially tie the knot!
To say their special day at Park Hyatt Aviara was gorgeous would be an understatement. Francine of Francine Ribeau Events beautifully curated their ceremony and reception site. It was a vision of romantic garden blooms by the talented Carla Kayes, vintage details in soft blush, antique metals, and rustic wooden farm tables. Don't take our word for it, see for yourself!
Their wedding memories were expertly captured by Leah Vis Photography. We had an amazing time working alongside her. Her dreamy imagery definitely does justice to how completely in love Nicole and Alonzo are with each other and how happy they were to finally say "I do."
